Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. She spent the majority of her childhood listening to classical music Boleros from the past, traditional ranchero or romantic music, as well older classical songs. Ana loves tangos as well the dramatic and opera performances. Her mother taught her to sing, but she started more intense training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical studies at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later in the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. When she was a student, and a young professional, she performed with various chamber groups as well as opera choruses throughout Guadalajara and Mexico City. She sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She is currently a member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo with the traditional Latin American music at private performances. The love she has for performing, music, as well as the arts keeps her engaged in local projects for both an artist as well as a educator. Ana has been a member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able be able to share her love for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes that this will inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
